Q. When is ¡PlayBall! 2024?
A. ¡PlayBall! 2024 dates are June 28-July 8, 2024.
Q. What are the requirements for application?
A. ¡PlayBall! participants must be in agreement with the Baptist Mid-Missions Articles of Faith, have their pastor’s approval to serve, and provide their travel and ministry expenses.
Q. What expenses are involved?
A. ¡PlayBall! participants incur the expense for their travel to and from the Dominican Republic, a registration fee ($25), a ministry fee ($750 for first time applicants\ $650 for veterans) that covers all of their travel, housing and meal costs in-country, and expenses for the immunization schedule set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for the Dominican Republic.
Q. Who makes my travel arrangements ¡PlayBall! or me?
A. ¡PlayBall! members arrange their own travel schedule into and out of Santo Domingo (Airport Code: SDQ) on the defined travel dates—June 28 and July 8, 2024.
Q. Who is needed?
A. Ideal ¡PlayBall! applicants are those who love the Lord, are burdened for souls, and love baseball. Instructors and assistant instructors should have baseball experience (playing or coaching), translators must be fluent in English and Spanish, and Gospel station leaders should have ministerial experience (especially evangelism with youth). ¡PlayBall! ministry requires a team-spirited disposition- ready to serve others, ready to serve with others.
Q. What documents do I need to enter the Dominican Republic?
A. ¡PlayBall! participants need a current passport. A visa is not necessary to enter the Dominican Republic.
